CR-48

Day 1

After the initial shock has worn. I sit here to take a reflective look at the system on day 1.

Ran from 2pm to 5pm without needing a charge. The battery took 4 hours to totally charge while in use. Installed 19 apps from the web store. Used 6 or 7. So far so good! Good luck to all of the other applicants. I hope you get yours.

Now for some admin.
Chrome OS

As some of you may or may not know. Google has created an OS. With this new OS has come the need for people to test it. That's where I come in. I have received a brand new Google Chrome CR-48. Its a notebook, Its a netbook. It is the internet. No HDD involved. Not that I can think of. All the computing is done out there. In the interweb. This blog will serve as my sounding board for the experiments that I am going to preform.

Now... legend has it, back in the day I used to be quite the blogger (pre social network era). I don't know if I have lost my touch or not. Having a computer that is instantly connected to the web may help my creative blogging juices. Sometimes its about the journey. Not the destination.

Who am I? I am a product of the media. A robot repairman. A father. A husband. A coach. A high school graduate. A fan. A follower. A leader. A watcher. A listener. A reader. A researcher. A reporter, embedded in-humanity. Stay tuned for more reports.

08.08.08 - The day that some have waited their entire lifetime to witness is finally here. Today (in case you are reading this blog underneath a rock) marks the day that the Beijing Olympics begin. A day, that will ever be stamped in history as China's coming out party. A celebration of not just the Olympic Spirit, but of China itself. So I will be heading to store, to get ready for this party of Olympic proportions. I wonder if Egg Rolls wil be on the grocery list?

2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing

As the 2008 Summer Olympics are set to kick off on 08.08.08 @ 8:08:00 PM I am preparing to use this medium to cover the Olympics. Although I will not be traveling to Beijing, I will be gathering all the information I can by reading other articles and watching the events unfold on my local television.

This is an exercise for me to see if I can approach a journalistic event and capture the 5W's. After doing the research for the last week and a half, this is my basic story line... Because this is an experiment, I will be posting everything I know about the journalistic process here. So... Here goes nothing.

For those experienced bloggers, please move on to the next blog, this is for beginners only. I have no training in this matter, I just think it would be a fun way to mark this historical event, for me, my friends and family. Thank you.
